A detailed comparison of Turkey's EKAP (Electronic Public Procurement Platform) and the EU's TED system. Features, differences, and how to use both.

Overview

If you are bidding on tenders in Turkey and Europe, you will need to use both EKAP and TED. While they serve similar purposes, they differ significantly in interface, requirements, and process.

EKAP (Elektronik Kamu Alimlari Platformu)

EKAP is Turkey's official e-procurement platform operated by the Public Procurement Authority (KIK). All public tenders above certain thresholds must be published here.

  • Language: Turkish only
  • Registration: Turkish tax ID required
  • E-signature: Required for all submissions
  • Coverage: All Turkish public procurement

TED (Tenders Electronic Daily)

TED is the EU's official journal for public procurement. All EU contracts above threshold values must be published here.

  • Language: 24 EU languages
  • Registration: Free, open to all countries
  • E-signature: Varies by member state
  • Coverage: 27 EU countries + EEA

Key Differences

The biggest practical difference is accessibility. TED is open and searchable by anyone worldwide. EKAP requires Turkish registration and digital signature infrastructure.

How GTND Bridges Both

GTND aggregates data from both EKAP and TED (plus SAM.gov, World Bank, UNGM, and more), giving you a single search interface across all platforms.
